Saint Paul’s Anglican Church is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all, especially children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

In keeping with the Reformed Episcopal Church’s Interim Policy for the Protection of Children and Adults, we uphold the biblical mandate to care for “the least of these” and maintain the highest standards of integrity in ministry.

The policy establishes:

  • Screening & Training – All clergy, staff, and volunteers working with children or youth must be background-checked, trained in abuse prevention, and certified before serving.
  • Behavioral Expectations – We follow the “two-adult rule,” maintain appropriate boundaries, and ensure that all interactions are respectful, transparent, and in public view.
  • Supervision & Safety – Detailed supervisory plans are required for all children’s and youth events, covering ratios, transportation, restrooms, overnight stays, and physical interaction guidelines.
  • Mandatory Reporting – Allegations of abuse are taken seriously, reported promptly to civil authorities, and handled in accordance with church and diocesan procedures.
  • Pastoral Care & Accountability – The policy addresses pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, and the prevention of pastoral abuse, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and biblical ethics.

This policy reflects our sacred trust to protect those entrusted to our care and to honor the image of God in every person.
