Prayer Team & Intercessors

Lifting Up the Needs of the Church in the Presence of God

At Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, we believe in the power and necessity of prayer. Our Prayer Team is a group of faithful intercessors who commit to lifting up the needs of the parish, our community, and the world before the throne of grace.

Whether in private devotion or public liturgy, these men and women stand in the gap—interceding for healing, guidance, protection, and spiritual renewal. This quiet ministry of prayer sustains the life of the Church and opens our hearts to God’s will.

Ways We Pray

  • Weekly Intercessions – Prayer for parish needs, missions, and individuals
  • Prayer Lists – Confidentially maintained and regularly updated
  • During Services – Leading or supporting the Prayers of the People
  • Home Prayer – Members commit to praying regularly throughout the week
  • Special Prayer Chains – For urgent or crisis needs

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
— James 5:16 (KJV)

Who Can Join?

The Prayer Team is open to mature and spiritually committed members of the parish who have a heart for intercession, confidentiality, and quiet service. All participants are asked to maintain discretion, spiritual discipline, and a willingness to pray faithfully for others.

Spiritual Discipline

Intercessors are encouraged to:

  • Follow a rule of daily prayer (e.g. Morning & Evening Prayer)
  • Use the parish prayer list and lectionary as guides
  • Fast or offer special intentions as able
  • Attend prayer meetings or retreats when scheduled
