Sanctity of Life Ministry

Life is sacred. From conception to natural death, human life is a gift from God, made in His image. At Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, we affirm the sanctity of every human life through prayer, education, and compassionate ministry. As a chapter of Anglicans For Life, we participate in the only life-affirming ministry within the Anglican Communion.

“Jesus Christ called His disciples to be light in the world. Light pushes back darkness & shows the way. Anglicans For Life is just such a ministry. It stands for the unchanging standard of God’s gift of life from conception.”
Archbishop Ray Sutton

Our Mission

To protect and honor every human life through biblical teaching, pastoral support, and practical action. We stand against abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia, and any attack on the dignity of life.

Church Partnership

As a Life-Affirming Church, Saint Paul’s has adopted the AFL Declaration of Life Statement:

“We believe God, and not man, is the creator of human life. Therefore, from conception to natural death, we will protect and respect the sanctity of every human life.”

We regularly observe Sanctity of Life Sunday and encourage parish-wide education on bioethics, pregnancy care, end-of-life support, and adoption/foster ministry.

What Our Ministry Does

  • Hosts Sanctity of Life events and observances
  • Provides resources and pastoral care for women facing crisis pregnancies
  • Educates parishioners about bioethical issues, adoption, and end-of-life care
  • Partners with local pregnancy centers and pro-life ministries
  • Distributes Anglicans For Life materials and newsletters

Prayer for Life

Lord God, thank You for creating human life in Your image. Thank You for my life and the lives of those I love. Thank You for teaching us through Scripture the value You place on life. Help me to uphold the Sanctity of Life in my church and community. Give me the strength to stand up to those forces that seek to destroy the lives of those most vulnerable—the unborn, the infirm, and the elderly. Today I commit myself never to be silent, never to be passive, never to forget the sacredness of life. I commit myself to protecting and defending life through Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for the Little Unborn Ones Across Our Land (Canterbury Edition)

O GOD OUR FATHER, we plead for Thy protection of the unborn little ones across our land.  Save them, O Lord, from those who would destroy them in their mothers’ wombs.  We pray Thee to turn the hearts of the President of the United States, senators, congressmen, and state legislators who advocate and justices who condone, the killing of innocent babies.  May we all begin to again live under the protection of Thy commandments.  In the Name of Thy Blessed Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Saint Paul’s is active in supporting our local pregnancy center financially and as volunteers. Sponsoring tables at dinners and recruiting donors is part of our role in helping ensure that financial resources are available for mothers in need. We are excited to see how these partnership have connected the church, resources, and even media. Recently, our staff met Ashley Bratcher— a courageous and talented actress best known for her powerful portrayal of Abby Johnson in the film Unplanned (2019). With grace and emotional depth, she brought to life the true story of a former Planned Parenthood director who became one of the nation’s most passionate pro-life advocates. Bratcher’s performance was not only artistically compelling but also personal—she later revealed that her own mother had nearly aborted her, adding profound resonance to her role. Through her work, Bratcher has become a bold voice for life, using her platform to advocate for the dignity of every human being and to inspire others to stand for truth with conviction and compassion.
