Ushers & Greeters

Welcoming the Faithful in the Spirit of Christian Hospitality

The Ushers & Greeters at Saint Paul’s Anglican Church serve as the first point of contact for visitors and members as they arrive for worship. Through a warm welcome, helpful guidance, and attentive service, these men set the tone for our liturgy by creating a spirit of reverence and belonging.

This ministry of hospitality is not simply logistical—it is spiritual. Ushers and greeters embody the love of Christ to newcomers and help everyone enter worship with peace and focus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet worshippers at the door with a smile and handshake
  • Distribute bulletins and service leaflets
  • Assist visitors in finding seats or locating nursery/restrooms
  • Help manage seating and flow during large services
  • Collect the offering and guide the Communion procession
  • Remain attentive to special needs or disruptions during worship

Who Can Serve?

This ministry is especially suited for mature, welcoming men who can provide a calm and helpful presence. It is also an excellent ministry for fathers and sons to serve together, reinforcing hospitality, attentiveness, and leadership.

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
— Hebrews 13:2 (KJV)

Schedule & Rotation

Ushers typically serve one or two Sundays per month on a rotating basis. Training and guidelines are provided. Ushers are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before the service and stay until the sanctuary is cleared.
