Saint Paul’s Parishioners Participate in the 46th Los Altos Arts and Wine Festival

Parishioners in the Community: The Milbanks at the Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival

This past weekend our parish was represented at one of our community’s most important events: the 46th Annual Los Altos Arts & Wine Festival. Held July 12–13 in the heart of Downtown Los Altos, the festival brought together artists, musicians, food vendors, and neighbors for a celebration of local creativity.

Among the many talented artisans was our very own Sherri Rawson, longtime member of our parish family. Sherri is the creative force behind Pence Pets, a family-run business that has been handcrafting original animal sculptures for over 50 years. Joining her at the booth was her husband, Mr. Michael Milbank, who serves faithfully as Senior Warden at St. Paul’s. His father Rev. Norman Milbank founded our parish in 1967 after years serving at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, California.

Each Pence Pet sculpture begins with raw clay and is lovingly shaped by hand—no molds, no shortcuts. After being air-dried and kiln-fired to stoneware, each piece is glazed to highlight its unique expression. The result? One-of-a-kind animal sculptures that have captured the hearts of collectors around the world. To see more of Sherri’s work, visit here website here: https://www.pencepets.com/

Their booth drew plenty of attention at the festival, showcasing both the charm of her work and to see Mr. Milbank’s festival shirt. It’s always encouraging to see our parishioners sharing their God-given talents in the wider community—and what better way than through beauty, craftsmanship, and neighborly joy?

We’re proud to support our members in their creative and professional endeavors—and we love seeing Saint Paul’s represented in our city’s public life!
