What if the very things we trust to keep us safe—the right credential, the right institution, the right people’s approval—are just a modern form of circumcision?
- Preacher: Fr. Steve Macias
- Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026
- Scripture: Galatians 6:11–18
- Occasion: Trinity XV (the Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity), 1928 Lectionary
About This Sermon
In Galatians 6:11–18, St. Paul closes his letter in his own scrawled hand and sets two marks side by side: the mark of circumcision the false teachers wanted cut into Gentile flesh, and the marks of Christ already branded into his own body through suffering.
